Freeride snowboards are a little harder to find serious information on than freestyle, I'm looking for something that will help me keep up with my skier friends, while also shredding through the woods comfortably. I currently have a Burton Custom, but it just can't hold the high speed and steep slopes well enough, I've heard good things and bad things about the Never Summer Premier F1-R and the Rome Anthem, any insight would be very helpful.

the new technology this year for freestyle and powder boards is the reverse camber or bannana rocker ect snowboards, just about every company has a reverse camber snowboard now, check one out and see what you think

Freeride snowboards are rather for all around mountain use, no count if getting used to carve the powder, trip the ramps or basically to descend the mountain on the pistes. Freeride boards are commonly longer in length and are very stable at extreme velocity open turns. Freestyle snowboards are alot shorter and extremely versatile and are rather designed for use interior the snowboarding park for tricks.

Get yourself a Never Summer Legacy.

I've been riding an '04 Legacy for the past five seasons; I'm riding a 163cm and it's handled steeps in Jackson Hole and powder in Park City etc. It's scary fast. I can keep up with most skiers and way faster than most snowboarders.
im really board

so many, if your talking about powder freeride demo some rockers if just speed i have a burton custom X which is just a step above the custom and love it. and btw skiers are unfortunately faster than boarders(but they look stupid :) so its no big deal really if you can't keep up with them

That's an exciting question! One that has been probed into in the past by numerous people, even. I must warn you this question that you have asked this moment is not simplely settled.
