i just found out a local shop is liquidating and i'm wanting a snowboard. I've been enough to call myself a calculated intermediate. the brand I've heard they carry is nidecker. I've never heard of that brand. also they will be 2007 models. is this brand worth looking at? where I will be riding is usually hard pack / groomed...never much in the way of powder. All I know is that is a swiss brand. I'm going in 2 hours to look. QUICK RESPONSE PLEASE!

Nidecker has some impressive board & binding tech, especially on their high-end products. I haven't really heard anything negative about Nidecker, but I don't know a lot of people who ride them. I've never personally ridden one, but they have been around for quite a while. Being a Swiss company, they're probably going to be more popular in Europe.

If you're uncomfortable with them, you could could probably find a comparable deal on 07-08 boards by a brand you're more familiar with online.

Also, you might want to check out their website: http://www.nidecker.com/

Hope that helps...

they make great stuff, they're just not that well known as the bigger brands.
