Burton snowboards for general riding, lib tech for all mountain, GNU pickle for park, Pro-tech Scotty Arnold audio helmet is the best helmet hands down, Anon or Oakley goggles best for least foggy and most clear, Ride bindings for best control and durability, Flow bindings for fastest strap in time, 686 or Oakley gloves (you'll never buy another pair after), 686 and foursquare coats, Burton best waterproof pants and long johns, nike under layers, and boots are like shoes, they are all different, try each different pair is what i recommend. Oh and get a Strap-pad for the lifts, its a leg saver!

There isn't really a "best" brand. A lot of brands have great products. I use a variety. I have Anon goggles, Burton pants and jacket, Vans boots, Burton bindings, and a Forum deck. I can recommend all of these products. As far as speed, handling, etc. it really depends on what type of board you buy, and how much money you are willing to spend. Some brands that I like are Gnu, Forum, Jeenyus, and Burton. A lot of ski resorts have product testing days, where you can try out a lot of different equipment at no charge. Good time to figure out what you like.

In my opinion Burton makes the best boards and bindings. For boots, Celsuis or ThirtyTwo. I have a smith helmet and i love it. Check out the websites

If your looking for quality, I would say Burton.
If your looking for a killer park board, I would go with RIDE.
If your looking for downhill boarding, I would say Burton or K2.
