I've been snowboarding since like 1990 and my 2005 Ride Timeless is the best board I've ever used. I bought it used off of some kid in a parking lot and it's sick. Other good companies I have used... obviously Burton. Forum is good too. Soloman, the ski company, actually makes a decent board. And a long time ago I had a Morrow that was one of the best I've used. I'm not even sure if the company is still around though. Hope this helped.

It really depends on what you are going to use it for... These aren't the only brands i'd pick there are quite a few other brands out there that are pretty good. Burton is my top choice and after that they are all pretty close in my opinion.

It is totally preference. You should try tons of different brands before you buy one. Good luck!!! These are all popular brands. Ride, Burton, Soloman, Forum, K2, Salomon, GNU, Liquid... (Not in any order) All my friends each have different brands (Totally your preference) Good luck, have fun!!!! :)
