I am wondering what brand of snowboard is best for my money? Are Palmer, Burton, Ride, and K2 as good as they say they are?

All the brands you have mentioned are goods makes, and all four of those companys would have a board that would suit you and they type of riding you want to do. Palmer nowadays tends to make more freeride boards than anything else but they do still make freestyle boards, ive never ridden a palmer but alot of people rate them really highly especially freeriders. Ride,Burton and K2 make boards for all types and levels of riding and are all highly respected, but the only problem with the makes you have mentioned especially Palmer and Burton is that there boards can be a bit pricey at times and are not the best value for money. The best value for money board i can think of is the Atomic Hatchet seriously that board should be double the price it sells for, and is suitable for both beginners and advanced riders.

it depends if you are new at the sport or not, if your new go with k2 and that would be best for your money my first was a k2 and its still in good condition. burton you can either buy really good boards from them or you can get cheap boards that are no good and definitly not worth the money, rides alright too, but dont go with palmer

burton is an extremely good brand; personally, my favorite out of all of my boards is Roxy, but im a girl, so i guess that wouldnt be good for you!..
but burton is definitely a good brand.. and if you dont want to spend the $500-700 that it would usually cost, try boardzone.com for .. about 70% off equipment [including boards, bindings, boots, pants, goggles, etc].. and its brand new-2007!

guy, if I were you and also you dont prefer to piss away alot of money, i'd steer sparkling of Burton. they are an effective organization yet they are expensive! yet nonetheless each and every variety has its severe end forums. attempt communicate board, Rome, holiday, perhaps Sapient? bypass bindings are highly solid too guy, yet another solid variety for bindings is Flux. Goodluck figuring out on a ill setup guy,
